Retail Plus Worker.
This full time position is mainly retail , assisting customers both in the shop and via phone or email enquiries.
As we are a specialist store, the ability to build up a good degree of product knowledge is essential, in order to be able to satisfy customer needs.
Must enjoy working with a range of interesting customers, and have a desire to meet their needs by going the extra mile when necessary.
Retail experience is not essential but would definitely be an advantage, as would be computer confidence (we have our own stock and POS system to learn), and money handling ability, good health, and a co-operative, team working attitude are traits we are looking for.
You would need to be reliable and honest, and prepared to help out in other areas of our small, family owned and operated business.
Areas may include but are not restricted to despatching parcels to customers, unpacking orders in the warehouse, serving customers in shop, answering the phone, assisting with trade fairs, collecting or delivering orders from our local manufacturer of chef clothing, sourcing items we do not have in stock, providing customer quotes, cleaning shelves and re-stocking where necessary, vacuuming the floors, washing the dishes or helping pack sets of Hospitality student equipment etc.
Needless to say, this is a busy and interesting position that will offer a lot of variety to the right person.
But you really must be reliable, turn up to work regularly and on time, and want to work while you are here.
At present, we have a small team of workers and a shop dog.
Unfortunately, time off during school holidays/ Christmas etc cannot be guaranteed.
It may be possible to make this a job-share position but only if there were two compatible applicants.who may also be able to increase their hours at busy times of the year.
